The Cosmos Club is very privileged to have among its noted membership a comparatively small number of members who were admitted on the basis of their accomplishments and standing as professionals in the visual arts. Most of these artists, approximately 16 in total, are participants in the Club’s very active Arts Committee, which arranges and sponsors exhibits of the artists’ works at various times and places in the Club’s facilities. Many of these artists, although well known nationally and internationally in the visual arts communities, are not easily identified by some of the Club’s other members, nor are their works. And they should be. As one effort in helping them to the fore in the COSMOS Journal’s pursuit of assisting in introducing members and their informed interests to one another, several of the artists agreed to make photographs representative of their works available to us for publication in this issue. Although photographs rarely capture the full beauty and significance of any work of art, we know you will find this sampling of the Cosmos Club’s artists interesting. Enjoy! And be sure to introduce yourselves to our artists if you haven’t already. —GSR
